Frequently Asked Questions
Q: There are small holes and dents. Is this a defect?
A: Due to the nature of cast iron products, pinholes and small dents may occur during the manufacturing process. Please understand that items that do not affect use are considered unique characteristics.
Q: Will the color change?
A: With direct flame cooking, an aging effect will be seen where the parts exposed to the flame will turn white and sooty.
Q: Do the handles get hot?
A: Since both the body and handles are made of cast iron, the entire pot will get hot during heating. Always use oven mitts or a cloth.
Q: What if rust appears?
A: Remove red rust with a soft scrubbing brush, then sauté green onions or onions and season with oil. The ingredients react with the iron and have a rust-preventative effect.
Q: The coating is peeling off.
A: The coating may peel off partially with use. The paint used complies with the Food Sanitation Act, so you can use it with peace of mind. Apply seasoning with cooking oil to the peeled parts.
Q: Can I use detergent?
A: We generally recommend washing with hot water. If odor is a concern, use a small amount of unscented detergent. Avoid hard sponges and steel wool, and use a soft scrubbing brush or sponge. Dishwashers are not recommended.
